At Calvin College: Questions raised about Adam and Eve and the Fall

Why would anyone be surprised that Calvin College or Calvin Seminary is moving in a more liberal direction? Obviously, this is the just the natural outworking of placing human reason on an equal status with Holy Scripture. And why would Calvin College do that? It goes straight back to the issue of the three points of common grace. If God shows favor to scientists who are not Christians and if God reveals truths in general revelation that are "favorable" to all mankind, then it follows that reason must not be darkened by the fall and that evolution is true and the Bible is wrong.

  2. If Genesis 1-3 is an allegory, then religion is irrelevant. The Bible clearly intends to teach that Genesis is history, not allegory.
