Collect of the Day

The Second Sunday in Lent.

The Collect

ALMIGHTY God, who seest that we have no power of ourselves to help ourselves; Keep us both outwardly in our bodies, and inwardly in our souls; that we may be defended from all adversities which may happen to the body, and from all evil thoughts which may assault and hurt the soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Collect from the First Day of Lent is to be read every day in Lent after the Collect appointed for the Day.

David Virtue Goes Transexual

Guess Who's Coming to Lunch with David Virtue?

I guess I should not be surprised. But those who place reason above God's revelation in Holy Scripture are prone to such errors. It seems to me that compromising the Gospel leads equally to compromising the moral law of God. David Virtue has gone down a notch in my view. Click on the link to read his interview with Mr. M.

The Sixteenth Sunday after Trinity.
The Collect.
O LORD, we beseech thee, let thy continual pity cleanse and defend thy Church; and, because it cannot continue in safety without thy succour, preserve it evermore by thy help and goodness; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

If you think less of David Virtue for the mere act of publishing thought-provoking information, then for shame. Shouldn't we be willing to search fearlessly for Truth, no matter where it might be found? Even if, heaven forbid, it might be found in Science?

I'm sure that I needn't remind you that the Church has been wrong more than once in its pronouncements on science; due, almost always, to scriptural interpretations that turned out to be plain WRONG.

An unbiased look at the underlying scientific, peer-reviewed evidence might convince a reasonable person that the same could be true here.

David Virtue is an uninformed layperson who does not understand that science and reason can never override the revelation of God in Holy Scripture. Furthermore, there is no "science" which proves that transgender dysphoria is anything other than a "psychological" disorder. Which means it is a "sin" caused by darkened minds of unregenerate sinners who deserve hell like everyone else. Unless you repent you will likewise perish.

I will give you credit that your political lobby and emotional appeal works on those who are unable to understand the difference between Scripture and reason and experience. Essentially, the argument for homosexual/transgender sins is the same. It is based on the inner, subjective "experience" of the sinner who claims they can't help their sin.

Sorry, but I don't buy into that rubbish. Sin is still sin and God hates transexuals, homosexuals, heterosexuals, thieves, murderers, good people and bad people and all equally so since the fall of Adam. There is none righteous and everyone deserves hell.

Do you really think God is going to cater to you? The Bible clearly says that we must come to God on His terms and He jolly well owes us absolutely nothing.

May God grant you the grace to repent and believe,

Congratulate yourself, Mr. Margaret. You've won over Mr. Virtue. Next he will be repenting and accepting Gene Robinson as a legitimate bishop who was born that way and can't help himself. As for me and the rest of the Bible believing Christians, we will continue to call sin what it is: Sin.
