Collect of the Day

The Second Sunday in Lent.

The Collect

ALMIGHTY God, who seest that we have no power of ourselves to help ourselves; Keep us both outwardly in our bodies, and inwardly in our souls; that we may be defended from all adversities which may happen to the body, and from all evil thoughts which may assault and hurt the soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Collect from the First Day of Lent is to be read every day in Lent after the Collect appointed for the Day.

Religious Persecution Intensifies in the UK

In a recent case in Canada a clergyman was fined and threatened with jail if he did not recant his public statements in the newspaper that homosexuality was a sinful condition and a sinful lifestyle. Now in the UK we have a case of a five-year-old girl and her mother being persecuted because of their religious beliefs and daring to discuss their faith in public. How much longer can this sort of abuse of governmental authority go on in the name of political correctness? See Teacher Scolds Girl.
