Collect of the Day

The First Sunday in Lent.

The Collect

O LORD, who for our sake didst fast forty days and forty nights; Give us grace to use such abstinence, that, our flesh being subdued to the Spirit, we may ever obey thy godly motions in righteousness, and true holiness, to thy honour and glory, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen.

Kenosis: Is N.T. Wright Wrong on Jesus? | A Daughter of the Reformation

Thanks to Sean Gerety of the God's Hammer blog for pointing out this article by Rachel Miller.   I have a couple of N. T. Wright's books packed away and I have read most of his book on the resurrection.  But the interesting aspect of Rachel Miller's article is that she quotes extensively from Tom Wright himself to show that he has a kenotic view of Christ at best.  In other words, Wright denies the complete deity of Jesus Christ.  You would do well to read carefully this article and the quotes there:
