The Holman Christian Standard Bible has a Study Bible edition available. The publishers have made this edition available for free online access. I have read this version from time to time and have found that it is actually better than the English Standard Version in some places in the text and worse in others. As I understand it, the Holman CSB is published by the Southern Baptist Convention and Lifeway Christian Resources so the translation will reflect the presuppositions of Baptists generally.
Although this claims to be a literal translation, like the ESV there are interpretative and dynamic equivalency translations in particular places in the text like Revelation 13:8. Only the KJV and the NKJV get Revelation 13:8 right as it stands in the text. Greek word order or syntax generally reads like English and to change the word order based on a presupposed theological position is inexcusable in my opinion. There are places where Greek word order does not determine meaning but Revelation 13:8 is not one of them.
In general literal translations are better. However, even the one of the most literal translations, the New American Standard Bible, gets Revelation 13:8 wrong. That's true even in the 1995 updated edition of the NASB.
