Collect of the Day

The First Sunday in Lent.

The Collect

O LORD, who for our sake didst fast forty days and forty nights; Give us grace to use such abstinence, that, our flesh being subdued to the Spirit, we may ever obey thy godly motions in righteousness, and true holiness, to thy honour and glory, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen.

Wendy Francisco: God is your dog who jumps at your command...

Although my title is not what Wendy intended, it seems to me that the Charismatic theology is basically that man tells God what to do. This is particularly true of the Word of Faith teaching which says that God is bound by His own rules and that man and satan are sovereign on earth. God cannot do anything without our permission they say. (See Kingdom Now).
