Looks like The Aquila Report is slipping. They posted an article by David Virtue of Virtue Online. Unfortunately, David Virtue is also a supporter of the Anglican Church in North America. The ACNA is an Anglo-Catholic organization which split from The Episcopal Church over the consecration of Gene Robinson as a bishop in TEC., an unrepentant homosexual who flaunted his activities without shame. The ACNA is morally conservative and stands against the ordination of homosexuals and the consecration of homosexuals as bishops.
What I do not get, however, is how an allegedly Reformed news site can post an article by someone who thinks Anglo-Catholic denials of justification by faith alone are matters of adiaphora. The fact is the Anglican Church in North America denies all five of the solas of the Protestant Reformation. I was no fan of Jerry Falwell. However, on the matter of David Virtue I have to agree that David Virtue is a false prophet who seeks to lead people away from the doctrines of grace and into a false denomination.
Sadly, I have reached the same conclusion about James I. Packer, who promotes the ACNA and its Canadian counterpart. Any church which officially denies the doctrine of justification by faith alone has no part in any Reformed fellowship or communion.
