The New Pope Endorses the Homosexual "Orientation"

Is there such thing as a homosexual orientation?  Obviously, there are those who have been so long slaves to their perversion that nothing can be done to deliver them from it apart from a supernatural intervention by God.  (Romans 1:18-32).  But "science" presupposes that homosexuals are "born" that way.  There is no proof apart from a presupposition that nature rather than nurture produces homosexuals.

Yet we have the newest pope saying that gays are born with an "orientation."  I fail to see how sinful thoughts constitute a biological or physiological attraction to sexual activity with the same sex.  God's original creation, according to Scripture, is for one man and for one woman to be joined together in holy matrimony.  (Genesis 2:7-25).

Honestly, Charlie, you of all people I know should know that we have to account for original sin. Are you saying that in your entire Christian life you have never wondered why it seems that you are predisposed toward certain sins? Yet, you don't judge yourself on the disposition, but only on whether or not you act on it. (acting being defined as thoughts or actions). The pope knows that marriage is for one man and one woman-that's why he referenced the catechism of the Church in his remarks. This looks like another post in the ongoing saga of Charlie Ray trying to discredit the Catholic Church.

Billy, you're confused as usual. It is so-called science that teaches there is a "homosexual orientation" given at birth. Bible nowhere teaches such at thing. Original sin results in all kinds of sins, including homosexual sins. But the so-called "orientation" to homosexuality is non-existent. What there is in common to all the reprobate is a sinful rebellion against God and His revelation in nature and in the special revelation of Scripture.

My point is that the pope's remark shows that Rome follows "science" and not Scripture since nowhere does the Bible teach either theistic evolution or the watering down of the doctrine of total depravity such that homosexuals are "excused" for thinking wicked thoughts. (Proverbs 23:7). There is no such thing as a homosexual orientation. There is only election and reprobation. Original sin and total inability are both the biblical teaching.

What is humorous, though, is your admiration for the synagogue of satan and the antichristian pope. This is especially true since you "claim" to be a Calvinist. Nothing could be further from the truth, since Calvinism teaches that Scripture defines Christianity, not tradition.

Second of all, I do not need to "try" to discredit the papists. They do a fine job of discrediting themselves:) Scripture alone is the Word of God.

So you don't think original sin predisposes us toward committing actual sins? Even in the regenerate, the desire for sin remains, but the difference is that we possess the grace to resist the temptations. I don't see why a desire, or orientation, toward homosexuality couldn't remain in a regenerate person. (Though as the process of sanctification takes hold, that orientation should be corrected.)

First off, your presupposition is that homosexual behavior is sinful while a homosexual orientation is not. Both actual sins and sins of the mind or thoughts is sinful. Secondly, there is no such thing as a "homosexual" orientation. The sinful nature produces all kinds of sins, including homosexuality. But Scripture nowhere mentions homosexual "orientation". That's a modern psychological term that presupposes that such conditions are either genetic or biological or psychological and are therefore excusable. Science is always false because it is based on "induction." Particulars can never prove universal conclusions like the existence of a homosexual "orientation."

Thirdly, I would like to know how chemistry can produce thoughts. The Bible nowhere teaches behaviorism or any other such thing. The Bible teaches that God is a spirit and that man is created in God's image and likeness. Therefore, man is a spiritual being, a soul that lives in a body. That soul lives on after death. The soul is not something that arises out of brain chemistry or biological factors.

The minute you concede to empiricism that there is no soul you've allowed for the transgender/homosexual deception. Empiricism can produce no thoughts since sensations do not think. Only minds think.

You should read a bit of Gordon H. Clark's critique of behaviorism:

To quote again: “Why don’t we make what we can observe the real field of psychology?” This means, Why don’t we make one test-tube rather than another the real field of psychology? On the Behaviorist theory, observation itself is chemistry in a test-tube. But to continue the quotation: “Let us limit ourselves [limiting is another chemical reaction] to things that can be observed…now what can we observe? Well, we can observe behavior – what the organism does or says…saying is doing [that is, moving the larynx and tongue] – that is behaving. Speaking overtly or to ourselves (thinking) is just as objective a type of behavior as baseball.”

Original sin is not the same thing as a "homosexual orientation". The latter term is meant to excuse sin much as AA defines alcoholism as a "sickness" or a "disease" rather than a bondage to sin.

Reprobation and idolatry are rooted in rebellion against God:

Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man-- and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. 24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. (Romans 1:22-27 NKJ)
