The New Pope Endorses the Homosexual "Orientation"

Is there such thing as a homosexual orientation?  Obviously, there are those who have been so long slaves to their perversion that nothing can be done to deliver them from it apart from a supernatural intervention by God.  (Romans 1:18-32).  But "science" presupposes that homosexuals are "born" that way.  There is no proof apart from a presupposition that nature rather than nurture produces homosexuals.

Yet we have the newest pope saying that gays are born with an "orientation."  I fail to see how sinful thoughts constitute a biological or physiological attraction to sexual activity with the same sex.  God's original creation, according to Scripture, is for one man and for one woman to be joined together in holy matrimony.  (Genesis 2:7-25).

Honestly, Charlie, you of all people I know should know that we have to account for original sin. Are you saying that in your entire Christian life you have never wondered why it seems that you are predisposed toward certain sins? Yet, you don't judge yourself on the disposition, but only on whether or not you act on it. (acting being defined as thoughts or actions). The pope knows that marriage is for one man and one woman-that's why he referenced the catechism of the Church in his remarks. This looks like another post in the ongoing saga of Charlie Ray trying to discredit the Catholic Church.

Second of all, I do not need to "try" to discredit the papists. They do a fine job of discrediting themselves:) Scripture alone is the Word of God.

So you don't think original sin predisposes us toward committing actual sins? Even in the regenerate, the desire for sin remains, but the difference is that we possess the grace to resist the temptations. I don't see why a desire, or orientation, toward homosexuality couldn't remain in a regenerate person. (Though as the process of sanctification takes hold, that orientation should be corrected.)

Original sin is not the same thing as a "homosexual orientation". The latter term is meant to excuse sin much as AA defines alcoholism as a "sickness" or a "disease" rather than a bondage to sin.

Reprobation and idolatry are rooted in rebellion against God:

Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man-- and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. 24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. (Romans 1:22-27 NKJ)
