Collect of the Day

The Second Sunday in Lent.

The Collect

ALMIGHTY God, who seest that we have no power of ourselves to help ourselves; Keep us both outwardly in our bodies, and inwardly in our souls; that we may be defended from all adversities which may happen to the body, and from all evil thoughts which may assault and hurt the soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Collect from the First Day of Lent is to be read every day in Lent after the Collect appointed for the Day.

Finally A Diocese With Determination

When conservatives stand for what is right they exercise more authority and more power than those who stand against them. While the liberals have fewer numbers, they do get the free air time of C-SPAN and other pro-gay media outlets like NBC, ABC, CBS, etc. However, what these socially liberal and theologically liberal folks don't realize is that God's Word is more powerful than any news media collectively can muster. When people read and hear the Word of God preached it does not and cannot return void or empty. God will accomplish His sovereign will despite the evil designs of the wicked and the perverted.

The only diocese within the Episcopal Church USA that has any backbone or conviction is apparently the Diocese of San Joaquin, California, which has voted to secede and to join a province based out of Southern Cone, South America. If more bishops, ministers and congregations were willing to stand for what is right, then we would not see entire denominations go into apostasy.

Sadly, the Episcopal Church USA and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America have voted to forsake the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to go the way of rebellion against God. When man rebels against God the only thing left is judgment. When God's judgment will fall is not for us to know but know that it will come.

God have mercy!
