Collect of the Day

The Second Sunday in Lent.

The Collect

ALMIGHTY God, who seest that we have no power of ourselves to help ourselves; Keep us both outwardly in our bodies, and inwardly in our souls; that we may be defended from all adversities which may happen to the body, and from all evil thoughts which may assault and hurt the soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Collect from the First Day of Lent is to be read every day in Lent after the Collect appointed for the Day.

My Comments at Triablogue

Scroll down after you read the article at Triablogue.  You will see my comments there.  The original article was written in regards to William Lane Craig's Molinist views.  Unfortunately, the so-called "Calvinist" actually endorses Craig's misuse of Romans 9:11-13!  Click here to see my comments.

They will find it difficult to explain how a God who unconditionally loves everyone allows so many of those He loves to spend their entire lives in complete ignorance of the truth about Him and His Son!

Exactly. As Martin Luther said in The Bondage of the Will, there are no contingencies in God's mind. He already knows who will be saved and who will be lost. Free will is demolished by the sovereignty of God.
