I heartily endorse biblical counseling as the better choice for dealing with any family problems and emotional problems of Christians. Secular psychology is inherently hostile to Christianity and often such "counselors" indirectly try to influence people to disobey God's moral law or worse. When the final authority becomes an anthropocentric theology from below the door is wide open for the rejection of Biblical teaching and principles. Secular counseling leads to the destruction of families, divorce, and the undermining of traditional values. No Biblical counselor will endorse homosexuality, transgenderism, abortion, divorce, or any other such violation of God's law. (Galatians 2:17; Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7,11-17).

But even more to the point, the Biblical counselor knows that the Gospel promises, the doctrines of grace, and the sovereignty of God gives true hope to every believer.
