Collect of the Day

The Second Sunday in Lent.

The Collect

ALMIGHTY God, who seest that we have no power of ourselves to help ourselves; Keep us both outwardly in our bodies, and inwardly in our souls; that we may be defended from all adversities which may happen to the body, and from all evil thoughts which may assault and hurt the soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Collect from the First Day of Lent is to be read every day in Lent after the Collect appointed for the Day.

Dr. Paul Elliott: The Evangelical Romance with Mormonism

Are Mormons Christians?  Dr. Paul Elliott answers that question definitively from Scripture in this sermon.  My only complaint about this talk is that he thinks that Joel Osteen is an "Evangelical" Christian.  Not only is Osteen not an Evangelical but he is not a Christian either.  The Word of Faith heresy that Osteen teaches has more in common with Mormonism than with biblical Christianity.  You can hear this sermon at the Sermon Audio website:  Evangelicals' Romance with Mormonism.  Is Glenn Beck or Mitt Romney a "Christian"?  I think not.
