The Standard Bearer: Not Willing That Any Should Perish

God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. What a truth this is! If God is not willing that any should perish, then we know that none shall perish. Otherwise God is not God. This shows that in no way can the longsuffering of God in 2 Peter 3:9 be made to apply to all men in general. Clearly this is written to the church of believers who find themselves in the midst of trial, and even suffering in the midst of this life.
